Heartstrings Drama Review

Heartstrings AKA You've Fallen For Me:
Lee Shin(Jung Yong Hwa!!!), is a university student majoring in Western Style Music. He is also the guitarist and lead vocalist of the boy band "The Stupid", the university's most popular band. His personality is distant and appears to be cold hearted as he has passion for nothing other than his music. Lee Gyu Won(Park Shin Hye) is a bubbly and outgoing young Traditional Style Music major with her instrument as the Gayageum. Her grandfather was one of the top performers of his age and wants nothing more than to have his granddaughter follow in his footsteps. Wanting to please her grandfather, Gyu Won practices nonstop until her fellow Traditional Music major friends take her to a concert by The Stupid. Upon seeing Lee Shin perform, Gyu Won becomes fascinated by him but he doesn't return her interests until later when he realizes how much he likes to have her around but by that time she's decided to move on. The Stupid's drummer Yeo Joon Hee(Kang Minhyuk!!!!!!) is a quiet, shy, always hungry boy whose childlike personality captures the attention of Gyu Won's best friend Cha Bo Woon( Im Se Mi). Unfortunately, Joon Hee's attention has been turned to the school's chairman's talented, and slightly devious, daughter Han Hee Joo(Woori). The group of students are asked to participate in the school's festival performance  and when the Director wants Gyu Won to be the lead female, this threatens the participation of Hee Joo who is intended for the lead female's role.

Review: This drama had very little plot and it all ended kind of poorly. Actually, the ending sucked. The whole drama rode on the Festival's performance and it just fell apart at the end. But the cast was cute and the characters were fun so that kind of made up for the lack of plot. Because all of the students are musical majors there is a lot of music in this drama. Lots of singing and instrument playing by all members of the cast. This was a fun drama but I had a difficult time finishing it because of the lack of plot and though I liked the characters they weren't enough to keep my attention fixated through the drama.
Kang Minhyuk. This boy was the cutest thing in the world. From the moment he stepped into the drama to the end I loved him. Now I felt he ended up with the wrong girl cause he was sweet and innocent while she was devious and all around just a brat. It still bothers me that he'd end up with a girl like that when Gyu Won's best friend Bo Woon was kind and caring to him, and fed him which is no easy task. Oh well, can't change what's already happened.
A good thing that came out of this drama was CNBLUE. I had heard of the band but I had never really been interested until I found out that both Jung Yong Hwa and Kang Minhyuk were in it. It does make me a little sad that Kang Minhyuk, who is the band's drummer, doesn't sing more solos cause the song he sings in this is beautiful.

Rating: 6/10(Lousy ending)

Memorable Moment:
In Episode Seven Gyu Won decides that she's going to give up on liking Lee Shin because he's in love with another person and seems to despise her attention. This is also the time where she has to sing her audition piece for the lead female. The Director and the Dance Teacher had told Gyu Won that she lacks passion when she sings and she needs to put more emotion into her music. After struggling to find a piece of music Gyu Won finally decides on one that reflects exactly how she feels and the result is heartbreaking.
Gyu Won had recently told Lee Shin that she was going to forget him and as she's about to run into the audition, she tells him: "I don't think I'll be able to forget you at once, but I'll try." Directly after this she sings this song: I Will Forget You -OST Heartstrings. The whole room is obviously moved by her performance, even the evil Hee Joo, but she doesn't get the part because all of the judges, save the Director, are on the Chairman's payroll. Because this scene is a song I'll show you the youtube video of it:

After this scene finishes Lee Shin starts to see Gyu Won in a different light. Which sucks for him cause she's decided to move on.
What do you think Director and Dance Teacher? Does she lack feeling and passion in her singing?
