Happy Birthday Shindong!!!

Happy Birthday to Super Junior's hilarious Shindong!!!!!!! This boy is so freaking funny. He's a pretty good dancer, he acts all serious on camera and in music videos, but he's just a big goofball. He's definitely the member who is most comfortable with making fun of himself on TV. I've seen clips where he's wearing a dress... This big lump of funniness holds a dear spot in our hearts.

Twins attack!!!

So lately I've been listening to Tasty. And a while ago, a long while ago, Tasty's Facebook page posted this video and I watched it about a million times and then I realized that I never shared it on our blog. So here is Tasty being beyond cute with their brotherly love. Towards the end, about 1:10 when Soryong blows into his thumb and makes his fingers move, >.< Daeryong's face is all, "Psh, Maknaes..." And when they brush each other's shoulders off? That's cute. I apologize for not posting this earlier.

It encompasses my feelings for Faith so well!!! How much I love Choi Young (and his hair), how much I adore Eun Soo and her movements, How much I LOVE their relationship (they crack me up!), how much I love Woodalchi, the Goryeo Era and the whole story of FAITH!! Happy Birthday Hyun Bin!!!!!

Happy Birthday to the super hot and talented Hyun Bin. This marvelous man is in our "Corner of Sharing" and is turning 30 today. Here are a few pictures of this drop dead gorgeous man. I don't care that he's ten years older than I am. I love you too, Hyun Bin. Dang, why is it that he looks good with every possible hair style?

Faith Half Way Mark

We have finished episode 12 of 24 so that means it's time for a quick character update and a few thoughts on the plot. Plot: Right now I'm interested to see where things will go. The Evil Lord Ki Cheol is being all evil and basically threatening the King to his face. Evil Lord Ki Cheol also seems to be dying, quicker than the natural man, maybe it's his Ice/Freeze powers are killing him cause he's noticeably drained after he uses them. Choi Young has sworn not to go off and get himself killed so he can protect Eun Soo. The Mole who has been feeding Evil Lord Ki Cheol information his been discovered but not removed so I'm curious what false information they will feed her...
So without further ado here is a quick character update.

Choi Young: *giggle* How can one person be so hot? Captain of the King's Guard, and a freaking amazing fighter, Choi Young is all around awesome. Now because Choi Young is the main character, we knew that he'd have layers and a complicated past with deep meaning for how he lives his life. Since the series started we've found out why Choi Young had little to no will to live. Now this doesn't mean that he goes out looking for death, usually, but he just doesn't care if he lives or dies. We learn the reason behind his slightly suicidal habits in Episode Four and then in episode 12 we learn the deeper meaning behind his suicidal habits. Though he wants to die after the past couple of episodes I think he will feel the need to live due to a certain doctor he kidnapped. Maybe? He also has the Ki(energy) of lightening!

Yoo Eun Soo: She's still so funny. Eun Soo does what she wants, says what she wants, but she can no longer dress as she wants due to some lame reason similar to 'all the men will die of a heart attack when they see her legs' or something dumb like that. She gives sass to everyone and anyone, no matter who they are. Her only goal is to get back to the future and she will do anything to get there. Recently, however, her mind may have been changed do to a hot, super awesome, warrior. Maybe the one who kidnapped her in the first place? Maybe? She is also becoming my favorite Kdrama lead female. When she and Choi Young bicker, cutest thing ever.

Ki Cheol: EVIL!!!!!!!! This man wants to rule the world, pretty much, and he is willing to kill people to achieve this goal. He doesn't really understand the concept of winning someone's heart/loyalty. Ki Cheol has some magic Ki of Ice/freezing. This Ki seems to be more powerful than Choi Young's lightening but I think Choi Young will still come out on top. I can't take this character seriously. He's a great villain but every once in a while his left eyebrow gives this random twitch and I laugh. I'm not sure if the actor is doing the eyebrow twitch on purpose but it just cracks me up. And his mustache. I love it.

King Gongmin: I love this character. I think he's the one with the most emotion. He feels pride, uncertainty, fear, shame, joy, disloyalty; he's always questioning his decisions, wondering if he's a good enough king for his people, and fretting over his relationship with the Queen. Gongmin isn't a fully grown man yet. His mood changes instantly, he takes offense easily, his self-esteem is so low you feel bad for him.

Princess Nogoog: She acts cold but it's obvious that she had strong feeling for the King, her husband. The strained relationship the two had at the beginning of the drama is slowly dissipating and the feelings she's felt for the King are being reciprocated. Princess Nogoog wants to help the King in any way possible and this makes her one of the characters that tend to act before they think which forces her into a few awkward/dangerous situations.

Doctor Jang Bin: I still love that all of his emotions come from his eyes rather than the rest of his face. At first I thought it'd bother me but I've come to love it. He also still fights with his fan, but not often enough I think. He is Eun Soo's main confident. He's pretty comfortable with her seeing as he listens to everything she has to complain about while offering kind, wise advice. He's the level headed one in their friendship, which is something she needs cause she's always freaking out.

Hwa Soo In: She is evil. She kills easily. She toys with people, even her own people, and she likes to play with men. Hwa Soo In has some magic fire controlling/creating Ki and she uses it constantly. It also seems like she's the only one who isn't drained from using her powers. Hwa Soo In has taken an interest in Choi Young, though he thinks she's a waste of time.

Cheon Eum Ja: This character posses the Ki of super hearing and sound wave controlling. He uses his flute to kill people, which is still awesome. I love his white hair and little side pony tail. Eum Ja is obviously in love with Hwa Soo In and she either knows it and likes to play with him, or doesn't notice it and still likes to play with him. I'm going to go with the former because she's always toughing his hands, face, chest, shoulders, arms. She knows that he's in love with her cause she uses him. Maybe he confessed when they first knew each other and she's just holding it over him?I think Hwa Soo In does care for him, not in the way he wants though, cause she's worried about him, she fusses over him sometimes. He also seems to want love/some form of affection. He's willing to risk his ability to hear/loose his powers in order to please the Evil Lord Ki Cheol.

Oh Dae Man: I'm going to single him out of the rest of the Woodalchi because I love him. He's Choi Young's loyal little shadow puppy. I still think he has some sort of magical ability cause of a few recent comments. Dae Man cannot drink any alcohol while others are around. Why? he claims "Death, not mine but those around me will die." I'm curious and I kind of want to see what he means... He's got this adorable stutter that becomes more pronounced when he's being pressured. I still have the terrible feeling that he will die.

I don't know what their names are, I'm not even sure if they have names, but they're two cute boys who help Choi Young. One is a skilled archer while the other is skilling with a spear. I think one of the two will die. Probably the one with the spear.

Nice Guy Roll Call!!

Now that we've had four episodes it's time to give a few thoughts and a Roll Call! Quick thoughts: This drama is going to be dark, not happy, little to no humor. This show is all about revenge and I have to say the lead male has a very good reason for revenge. Betrayed by the woman he loves after taking a Murder Charge for her? Yeah, you go right ahead and ruin her comfortable life with her rich husband.
I am loving this drama so far. It's full of so much pain and hurt and backstabbing. It hurts. It hurts so good. Drama, if you keep it up, you will be my favorite drama of the year, possibly of all time. Sorry Faith...

Song Joong Ki as Kang Maru: I could go on about this man for hours, but I won't. Maru's character started out happy and kind but after prison and a betrayal, he's left a cold shell of a man. Working as a bartender and a gigolo(a male hired escort), Maru was once a promising medical student with a bright future as a doctor. After being betrayed by his girlfriend, Han Jae Hee, he's out for revenge to ruin her comfortable lifestyle. I love that Song Joong Ki  doesn't have a lot of lines because most of the things he says are with his expressions and eyes. This boy can say more things with his eyes than with words. It's really wonderful.
When he does say things, it's amazing. He has some of the best lines in the drama when it comes to Jae Hee. Not gonna lie, my favorite scenes are when Maru is with Jae Hee. He toys with her mind while acting completely calm, which makes her even more nervous. He answers questions with questions and makes harsh jabs with a neutral face. When she does get under his skin, his responses are sharp and cut deep. "I don't know what kind of world you live in but you don't belong there. A person like you doesn't belong there." At one point he basically tells her that innocent children die the longer she stays in that glamorous world. Whenever she's happy, an angel looses its wings. Orphanages burst into flames the longer she stays in her comfortable position. "If you won't come down from there, I'll come up and bring you down. I'll kill your world. Pack your bags and wait till I come to get you." Yikes. She pretty much can't do anything against him cause the more attention she draws to him the more likely it is that her past will become revealed. After this nice speech he gives, she asked him where he thinks she belongs. The slums? And here comes the best burn ever! "No. Even that place would be an honor for you." OUCH!!! He has the best lines in the drama. "Let's kill them all."
I am a little confused about how Maru feels about Eun Gi. I think that he's being nice to her, a friend, and possible house(a solid figure in her life) purely to use her, but I'm kind of hoping that there's some shred of humanity left in him and he won't just toss her to the ground the second he brings Jae Hee down.

Moon Chae Won as Seo Eun Gi: Daughter of a rich businessman, and step-daughter to Han Jae Hee. She's spiteful, feisty, and sort of rude. She's anything but weak. I like that she doesn't take crap sitting down. If you threaten her, she'll threaten you right back. She hates her step-mother han Jae Hee, who is only six years older than her, and she'll do anything to push Jae Hee out of her comfortable life. She becomes intrigued by Maru the second she sees him and that leads to her falling for him, and falling hard, BUT, she's totally using Maru. He's everything her father hates and she has a grudge against her father. She also is using him to get back at Jae Hee. I think that she knows there's some kind of history between Maru and Jae Hee and the best way to rattle Jae Hee's cage is to bring Maru into the picture and use him. I'm also pretty sure that she also knows Maru is going to use her and I hope that she takes it in stride cause she's using him too. "Let's use each other to get back at the one person we both hate." Why not? (Okay they really didn't say that but pretty much)
I also believe that she'll be the weak link in this drama. I'm not saying that she's a weak character, cause she isn't, but I think that Jae Hee and Maru will be the two that shine the brightest and Eun Gi will kind of be left in the dust. Let's be honest here, you really can't beat a man set on revenge and a woman who will do everything to try and stop him.

Park Si Yeon as Han Jae Hee: Maru's first and only love. He loves her more than anything and it seems like she felt the same way about him, but after she lets him take a murder charge for her, she goes off and marries a rich man who is old enough to be her father. Though she promised that she'd work the rest of her life to pay back Maru for his prison time, she tries to pay him off with money only days after she sees him for the first time in five years. She acts all kind and innocent but she knows how to threaten and mudsling to get what she wants and to stay out of the streets. Jae Hee and Eun Gi have a tense relationship. She wants to forget Maru and what he did for her.
This is a character that you just love to hate. Most of the second lead females(I'm not sure if I can consider her the second lead or the lead) are annoying, irritating, and bothersome but this girl is fantastic. You absolutely hate her. She has two huge fears: One, ending up back in the slums where she's spent most of her life. Two, Maru. She has worked hard to get to where she is right now, on the arm of the Company President, and she will do anything to stay there, even if that means pushing Maru down even further. Snuff out the Chairman's daughter? No problem, if it means she's in a comfortable position she'll do it. Jae Hee knows just what to say to figuratively punch Maru in the gut. "Why won't you accept money from me? You sell your body anyway, don't you?" She's not trying to be rude she's just frightened and confused which is why it hurts Maru so much when she says it.  I honestly don't think she is purposely saying things to hurt him but she's being honest and confused about Maru's motives. She's worried that he will do exactly as he says and "kill her world,. Your past comes back to haunt you? Yep, sorry Jae Hee but your past is living, breathing, and standing right in front of you ready to tear you down and leave you lying int the gutter so have your bags packed and be prepared for a very hard fall.

Lee Yoo Bi as Kang Choco: Maru affectionately called her the Chocolate Ghost when she was little but now that she's older the nickname seems to have worn off. After Maru left her when she was so sick she was dying in their house to go help his girlfriend, Choco is punishing him. Always reminding him of what he did, always snapping at him about her being sick, and saying she should have died the day he abandoned her, Choco is a manipulative child. She'll yell at him one second and then call him Oppa and as for a piggyback ride. Maru is always worrying about her and she uses that for her gain. Though she's a brat, she's the reason Maru is still alive. If it were not for her then he would have crawled up and died after he was released from prison. She really does care for Maru and hates that she's a burned on him. She's also in love with Park Jae Gil.

Lee Kwang Soo as Park Jae Gil: Maru's friend and the shows small bit of comic relief. Jae Gil is rich and tends to easily fall in love with woman who use him for his money. He takes care of Choco and Maru like he was family and is probably the only one who would stay by Maru's side no matter what.

Kim Young Chul as Company President Seo: He's cold, blunt, rude, and totally Eun Gi's father. You can see where she gets her personality from, him. He doesn't trust women. Understandable if you're old, dying, and rich. I have a bit of respect for this character. In episode 4 Eun Gi introduces Maru as her boyfriend, the Chairman is shocked because Eun Gi has never introduced a man as her boyfriend to him/introduced him to a man in her life at all. He makes a valiant effort to like Maru, it seems like he's really trying to like Maru. "What do your parents do?" "They're dead." "I'm sorry, what do you do?" "I'm a bartender, at a bar." "A bartender? Didn't you go to college?" "I had to drop out." "Financial difficulties?" "No, I was expelled." He tries to give Maru the benefit of the doubt but because of Maru's past, it's just not possible. You seem like a nice guy, you had to drop out of college, your parents are dead so it must have been for financial reasons. Right here is where we see him being an actual father to Eun Gi rather than the Chairman. (This picture is his poster from IRIS, cause I couldn't find a good one of him from this drama)

Kim Tae Hun as Lawyer Ahn: Basically the Chairman's righthand man. He's worked for the chairman for 25 years and is the person the Chairman trusts the most. He is also in love with Jae Hee, and she knows it. There's no affair going on between the two of them, but I think she's going to start one so she can manipulate him even more than she already does.

Lee Sang Yeob as Lawyer Park: Eun Gi's righthand man. I'm pretty sure he's in love with her cause he does her bidding without much complain. He's also afraid of her. Because he's very useful to Eun Gi, I felt the need to mention him.

U-Kiss Stop Girl

Here is U-Kiss'  music video for their new single Stop Girl. When I hear this song's chorus "Stop girl in the name of love," I kind of want to shout "Before you break my heart!!!!" Maybe I'm the only one but I'm sure there are others who feel the same as I do. Few things about this video.
How awesome are they? I am absolutely in love with this song. The English is fantastic. (If you get the chance check out their English version of Stop Girl. It's great.) Eli, Kevin. You two owned this video. Kevin... "Today is the day that I'll be flying away." Your voice is so pretty right there and the lyrics are gorgeous. Dang, sorry Eli but Kevin remains my favorite in this video. I still love you, Eli!!! The dancing was great! I loved that we actually have female dancers in this music video. Never do we see girls dancing in a, boy, kpop video and I absolutely loved that we had them this time. Soohyun's little foursome dance? Way to go Soohyun, you ladies man. Kevin's solo with that girl? Beautiful!! Definitely the best part 1:40-1:50, watch it obsessively like I do. I'm giving props to the girl for being able to dance in those heels. Walking in heels that high, while looking good, is difficult so dancing in them is even more difficult. And she was in a dress! Way to go girl! Not gonna lie, I wasn't digging Dongho's hair, hat thingy. It reminded me of Ren from NU'EST in their music video ACTION and while I loved Ren's hair. I thought Dongho's messy hair in Stop Girl should have been his only hairstyle in the video... Again, maybe I'm the only one. As always, the harmony is incredible. I am officially dubbing this group as the Harmonizers. Eli, love the hair. It's different. Usually we see mohawks that go straight up, GD and T.O.P in Knock Out, Kikwang in Beautiful Night, yours goes up and then slightly off to the side. Love it! Hoon and Kiseop needed to have more parts. I know that I'm not the only one who wanted to see Kiseop have a solo dance with a girl; he's such a great dancer that it needed to happen. Oh well... Soohyun, your voice is just continuously amazing so your part was perfect.
It makes me really sad that AJ is gone but his reason for not being in this song is a good one. AJ is currently working on furthering his education and will be living stateside for the next five months, possibly more. Way to improve your mind, we can't wait for you to come back.
U-Kiss, Fighting!
